The Whole in the Wall |
The title. Because I like the sound of it. Doesn't have to make sense right now. Btw, this is a comics, etc. place. |
I can’t stop laughing at this.

Grainy shot of a sketch of The Captain. Need to make him look less pretty.

After finishing the show, I’m comfortable saying it’s above average but nothing groundbreaking.
I thought Jessica herself was a great character and that the writers (and Ritter) really gave her layers.
Kilgrave was a fantastic villain and Tennant was the best thing about the show for me. I love how they took what was essentially a super powered stalker and made him much, much more.
Everything else was just kind of okay to me. The action was terrible apart from the amazing Jessica versus Luke fight (another highlight for me), the second tier characters were either way too quirky or way to bland and that subplot about the cop-turned-psycho-pill-popper should have been scrapped from the get go (although I know it’s setting up a future plot line).I don’t know. I enjoyed the show and will definitely watch the next season but I don’t think it’s deserving of all the hype and praise.
It felt like a crime procedural revved up to ten and while that’s great, I felt like it could have been so much more. I’d have liked to see Jessica explored more as a person, rather than being beaten over the head with “She’s such an outcast!”
Good show. Very good show. But not great. Certainly no “Daredevil”.But not great. Certainly no “Daredevil”. That was my first thought too, but after a second thought, I think it isn’t a fair comparison because they’re two very different shows. Daredevil is pure superhero stuff, but Jessica Jones (which I enjoyed) is a detective/thriller story, superhero elements are a surplus, she’s just a troubled and broken woman trying to - as they say in Oxford - “put her shit together” in a situation that happen to have super-people involved…anyway yes, I liked it but not as much as I enjoyed DD. But I must say it might be even because DD mythology is older and have much more deeper roots in my imaginary. Anyway I pretty much agree on everything but about fighting choreographies, I think that is something wanted from the authors, Matt is a trained ninja, Jessica is a common girl that get superpowers, so no fighting training (who would with super-strenght? Very few people I think…).
I like both opinions regarding the show, but before we compare MM and JJ, please remember that whatever strength or flaws the show might have, it is with the storytelling. Not as Jessica’s kind of power or what type of hero she is. At the end of the day, DD was simply far better storytelling than JJ. Agreed JJ is not all that great, but it’s not because JJ wasn’t MM.

Something I made for Inktober. All colored and all. Hope you guys like it.
Yeah, sometimes I draw stuff like this. This one has a reference. I’ll add the link to my post edit later on. This is a repost. This one has been scanned properly. Kevin Wada for the inspiration on this, of course. I think I’ll do a couple more of this for fun and practice. #onesimusart #models #fashion #girls #love #instaart #watercolor #nyfashionweek #vogue #makeup #marvel #dc #shoes #handbag #coat #pretty #elan
Psylocke in pencils on colored paper. It’s fun drawing on these colored boards, but they’re ugly when scanned. Better than the phone cam. Had a blast doing these. I think these needs more ninja stars. Larger pic in my DA account.
